BAU Centre Universitari de Disseny de Barcelona proposes an encounter with an extraterrestrial being through an immersive interactive experience that formulates an hypothesis about the development of life in the universe and the exploration of the limits of what is possible in astrobiology.

EXOHIVE comes from the exoplanet Corot-78, five hundred light-years from Earth, a multiple swarming organism, the result of evolution on a super-Earth with extreme temperatures, a high concentration of silicates and an exotic biochemistry based on silicon. Organized with swarm intelligence - a type of collective behavior similar to that of bees - the beings that form EXOHIVE respond to external stimuli (threat, food or simply leisure) by means of movements and light-sound choreographies.
